World Addition: pumpkins! Especially large,shark-toothed, mobile ones that may try to eat people. But any sort of pumpkin is good
Character history: Brash, self-centered, and (over)confident, Mint was the crown princess of the East Heaven Kingdom until her irresponsible ways got her stripped of her lineage, and her little sister Maya was named heir. Fired up, Mint goes on a journey to find a [relic]-- a rare, arcane object of immense mystic power, intending not only to reclaim her rule over East Heaven, but the entire world. After wandering for two years, Mint finds the village of Carona and a lead on the Dewprism, a powerful [relic] created by ancient mages known as Aeons. Determined to gain its power, she tracks down and allies herself with others seeking the Dewprism to take advantage of their knowledge and skill at precision jumping puzzles. But they are not the only group after the [relic]--so too is Maya's royal advisor, who revives the Aeon who created the Dewprism, aiming to purify the world through its destruction. Mint is not about to let that happen--that world is hers to rule! After beating each other up a bit and bickering a lot more, Mint and Maya unite to defeat the Aeon and save the world. However, in the process, the Dewprism is destroyed. Eventually picking herself up from the setback, Mint returns to East Heaven, redoubling her efforts to find a powerful [relic] so that this time she can take over the world.
Character personality: Mint is blunt, greedy and conniving, with a massive ego (and a rather overstimulated id). She'll make childish, selfish claims, then call out or mock others when they do the same. If given the chance she will always claim to put her own interests first, and she cannot stand those who work against her. Still, deep inside she does have some sliver of a moral core, much as she tries to ignore and deny it. She will grudgingly go against her better judgment to help others she's come to care about (if it becomes absolutely necessary). In such a case, she's likely to find some way to justify it as a self-serving action.
Despite being a princess, Mint is casual and informal in all things. Her face is expressive and her gestures wide and open, usually showing variations on irritation, impatience, or boredom. She can be rude, but is more likely to be dismissive than verbally insulting. In addition to being clever (which she actually is), Mint likes to think she is slickly in control of how others see her, be it as a cute girl in need, or as a youthful, spunky innocent. In truth both her expressions and intent are quite easy to read, and she is fairly simple to manipulate--even a mild-mannered researcher could (and does) do it. She is a bit shortsighted when things she desires (wealth, fame, power, etc.) are at hand. So even when she catches herself being tricked into doing grunt work by allies, she grumbles but does as she's told. However, if a foe or someone whose ends she did not agree with tried to manipulate her, she'd be more likely to rebel--if she realized she was being taken advantage of.
While Mint does make an effort to keep others from knowing the extent of her scheming, if called on it, she's shameless in coming clean. For example, when confronted by her family about how she is shiftless, lazy, and generally unfit for becoming queen, she merely shrugs and says she'll probably shape up when the time comes. To her credit, Mint does have talents. She's taught herself magic as well as physical combat, she is speedy and dexterous, and despite her sometimes abrasive manner, she can deal with people and even build friendships. She has survival skills and street smarts and generally very few of the troubles one might expect a spoiled princess thrust out into the real world to have. This seems to be proof of actually having matured during her two years of exile; while Mint is by no means perfect, she is not quite as terrible as the introductory flashback posits. Having had to fend for herself has given her wild claims of her own strength some credence, as well as taught her the value of hard work and cooperation. For the right motivation, she is even able to put differences aside and work with her 'hated' (or at least 'too similar for comfort') sister...at least until the crisis is over and the bickering and physical combat begins anew. Mint secretly measures herself against her proper, goody-two-shoes sister and wants nothing less to prove herself as better, once and for all. And if taking over the world can't do that, what can?
Skill loss or memory loss? Skills - magic, and possibly combat as well, depending on how large a registry is necessary
Effect of losing skills: Mint takes a lot of pride in her powers, more even than she shows. Her magic is all self-taught, all born from her own inner strength as opposed to a [relic] or other sort of power source. And while it's not crazy FF levels of strength, she can and does kick ass and she loves it. It will be hard on her to know that she can't just go around threatening people with bodily harm, and harder still for it to get through her head. In Decollage she will go out to fight things and people, and she will get beaten down, and she will throw tantrums over it. And when she's finished, she'll dust herself off and try harder to better herself or learn new skills. Being powerless will prompt her to bond with her team more if only out of necessity--since she can't just rely on herself, she'll be forced to play nice. There is the risk of her becoming too depressed, but it is low--she is not the type of person to wallow for too long (at least, not past the amount of time people would indulge her). Don't get sad--get mad, then get even.Voice Samples:
SURVEY: If this survey is too something something for you to want to fill out, you can steal one from another game, I won’t mind.
Introduce yourself:
The brilliant, talented, beautiful, humble, and otherwise completely awesome Princess Mint! Remember that, for when I take over the world.
Favorite color?
Silver. Gold. Platinum♪Blue is pretty sweet, too.
What do you pride yourself on?
Pretty much everything, to be honest. I'm amazing at manipulati--er, dealing with people, a whiz at physical combat (which helps when the manipulation goes sour), a pretty damned talented mage, and the sweetest personality, to boot. And I've got two boots for the face of anyone who disagrees with any of that!
What parts of yourself do you consider most essential?
If you wanna get all super serious and dour and whatever other crap Gramps always wishes I were on a regular basis, I guess I'd say my determination. No one believed me back home when I said I was gonna get a [relic] of my own. No one believed I'd be able to make it at all! But whenever I thought about giving up, I thought of Maya's smug little face, and I knew I had to keep going so I could one day return to punch her in it! I do not go back on my promises, no matter what.
What parts of yourself would you get rid of if you could?
You know how sometimes you find yourself feeling soft or familiar or even kinda sorry for someone, so you help them out and there isn't even anything in it for you but maybe some grody, uncomfortable fuzzy feeling inside? Ughhh, whatever makes me do crap like that is what I wanna get rid of, ASAP!
What’s most important to you in the world?
Yours truly, of course! And making sure I'm surrounded by the best stuff there is, and especially that it's a heck of a lot better than whatever dumb old Maya's got!
How far would you go to get what you want?
As far as I have to, so stay outta my way.
Do you believe in survival of the fittest as applied in a social context?
Are you asking if during my inevitable rule of the world, will I install some sort of pit-fighting skill-testing caste system or something? Because, now that you mention it, that could be a pretty good idea. "Send them to the games!" ...Yeah, I like the sound of that♪
What role do you feel most comfortable fufilling in a team situation?
Leader, of course! I was literally born for delegating responsibility and having peons make it work while I took all the credit later. That is what being a princess is all about! What, do you think I'd be a better great advisor-type, making the plans and...uh, whatever else it is that they do, hopefully involving getting all the credit? Or maybe the loner-type, who swoops in at the end having already solved the problem for the helpless and hapless group, just saying a cool phrase or two before leaving to the team's swoons of affection... Okay--whichever gets the biggest share of the loot.
Do you believe you made good choices?
Of course I did! Whaddya you care, anyway? My choices are my business, thank you very much, I certainly don't need the likes of you hassling me about them too.
